The Hawker Typhoon or 'Tiffy' as it was called by RAF pilots was one of WWII?s most potent ground attack planes.A product of famed aeronautical engineer Sydney Camm, the Typhoon was one of the first planes to provide close air support to ground forces as a low-altitude interceptor. The Typhoon became a welcome and reassuring friend in the sky. Soldiers were always happy to see its silhouette above them.
